Benno Zindel graduated at Braunschweig University of Arts in 2012 and is now working as a product designer and freelancer, at the moment for the social startup morethanshelters in Hamburg.

For his diploma thesis he concentrated on the field of social design and travelled to India in 2012, visiting Universities and meeting NGOs and social entrepreneurs. On his blog Water From Your Quarter he documented his experiences and a concept for a social business model, that could improve the self-supply with clean drinking water in developing and transition countries.

In 2009 he studied at Institut Teknologi Bandung, Indonesia on a scholarship, where he developed the sitting furniture Kursi Java in cooperation with local craftsmen. The product was awarded with the Designpreis Braunschweig in 2011 and nominated for the German Design Award 2012.
